Bhutan - Heicha

The tea drinking habit in Bhutan is almost identical to that in Tibet. Tea is drunk salted with yak milk and butter. It was also transported here by traders in horse-drawn caravans from Sichuan in China. In history, it has happened more than once that the caravans have not arrived for some time and suddenly the tea was not there. Bhutan therefore learned to make a substitute from fermented herbs and later tea. Such as the Ja Aum tea.
